Beta tool comparison to adware! - both don't work!!

Simon

Hi
I'm having real problems with Spyware...Everytime I load
IE my Noadware programme detects that a 'Spyware.TAFbar'
file is loaded into my registry in
the 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Dynamic Tools' location.
NoAdware removes it....but it comes back with IE each
time! Been talking with NoAdware support for 6 weeks
now...driving me mad! So thought I'd try MS Beta Spyware
tool...which amazingly didn't even pick up this file...or
another file 'BrowserSpy' in the MSN toolbar !
Anyone have some advice ?
Thanks
Simon

Hi Simon;
Yes, I have some advice, go to the below site and read the history of the
NoAdware publisher... including the referenced "NoAdware note" half-way down
the page. While NoAdware has recently been removed from the list of
rogue/suspect AS programs, would you want your sole protection to be based
on a program with that history? Many people here have recommended and even
encouraged running several AS programs. While no AS program detects
everything, NoAdware would not be one of my choices. There are several
(including free) recommendations here as well and this site is trustworthy,
as opposed to Google ads:

You might want to try out a few free scans but not scams, (I use Webroot Spy
Sweeper paid, but 15 day free trial available & MSAS) just to see if
NoAdware is being honest... who knows it could be... let us know by post if
any other scans by reputable products detect TAFbar or BrowserSpy. We'll
all learn.

Good morning, Simon.

Dave gets out of bed earlier than I do on the weekends, but I second his
advise on NoAdware.

IMHO, a basic rule of thumb these days would be if it's a sponsored link on
Google, it should be avoided.

If you scroll down on that second link you'll find a list of some good
antispyware programs:
Ad-aware
Microsoft AntiSpyware
Pest Patrol
Spybot Search & Destroy
Spyware Doctor
Webroot Spy Sweeper

Please let's know your results.
