Best way to set up HORM

I have to set up HORM in a configuration with 1GB CF with two partition.
The boot one will be protected by EWF, the other one will not.
Which is the best way to configure HORM in this scenario?
I read that you can't have HORM if you not protect all partitions with EWF.
Is this true?

You have to watch out how you store data on the uprotected volume. You will
want to dismount the volume when you initiate HORM. If you don't do this,
data will be lost upon remume from hibernation. The following MSDN articles
