Best way to "display" images

As this is my first post here, I hope I am posting in the proper group.

I have built a database in Access 2003 of which I am the sole user. It's
purpose is to keep track of magazines and publications that I use for reseach,
jewelry design specifically.

So far, it is working great thanks to the info that I have found here and in
the book, "Access 2003 Inside Out" by John Viescas.

I have not split it yet or upsized it to a SQL Project as my laptop is
running Vista and, well we know the complications with MSDE, SQL 2005 Express
and Access 2003 and a Project file.

It is at a point where I need to be able to insert images relating to each of
the projects in one of my tables. I know that based on the number of
projects in my database at this point, over 1500, this will bloat it
considerably.

Would it be best to use a hyperlink to view the image files, or would this
also cause the database to bloat? Would it be better to split my database,
create a seperate database for the images and link to that? (Although it
seems that may be just causing a bloat factor in a different place.)

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Karen

Store all your image files in one folder. Although not required, I would
suggest a sub folder to the folder you app is in. Then use FollowHyperlink.
This will not contribute to bloat at all, because the files are not in the
database, they are all external.
