I have Powerpoint files (with audio) that I want other users to view and hear
without having to have Powerpoint installed on their machine. I was hoping
Windows Media Player could somehow be used, but file formats do not seem to
be compatible. Any suggestions?

As Luc mentioned, you'll want to send the others a link to the PPT Viewer.

As for the audio part, you'll want to read this to ensure that your sounds
are audible on the other systems:
Sounds/Movies don't play, images disappear or links break when I move or
email a presentation

If you're sending them a CD, you can put the Viewer on the CD to make it
easier for your recipients. Consider creating an autorun CD that runs
everything from the CD as opposed to the users' harddrives -- that way they
won't have to install the Viewer or anything. For more info on how to do
that, see Make an AutoRun CD
