I am getting ready to add music to my slide show. Can anyone tell me what
is the best file format to use for music. Right now my music is in my Itunes
as MPEG audio file and not sure which way to convert it.

I haven't never really played with music on my computer can someone tell me
how to take a song from a cd and save it to a folder.

Hi Tallie,

2 issues--

1) The easy one. Will your presentation need to be distributed, or will it
only need to play on your computer? If it only will play on your computer
than any format will do. If it will be distributed, than both size and
issue 2 become problems.

2) DRM. Most music is copyrighted. That means that unless you seek and
procure permission from the author, you aren't allowed to copy it, or
convert the file format to something a bit more portable. ITunes has fairly
good Digital Rights Management code and copying the music may be difficult.
In a worst case situation, you might be able to burn a CD of the music (as a
music CD, not data) and re-rip it using Windows Media Player or a music
ripping program (if permissions are granted, of course).

Thanks for the info. I will be burning this CD for family use only. About
the music I was able to convert it to a WAV file, however I will check into
the copyright stuff. I didn't even think of that because I was only giving
the CD to family.

Thanks again.
