I haven't tried it (I am using a commercial firewall I had bought when I
had Win2k), but the built-in XP firewall might be a place to start. It
does logging, but is kinda basic.
Go to Control Panel -> Network Connections. Right click on your
internet connection and select "Properties". Go to the Advanced tab and
enable the firewall. Click on the Settings button to customize it.

This is the *best* and *easiest* to set up, and is *very* good. Tiny and
Kerio were once intertwined, but Kerio is easy to set up and understand and
does *all* the features of the others, with very low resource use. I've been
running it on two WinXP Pro machines for well over a year, and you can't
