I have an Internet PC that do not want to install MS Word or even Open
Office but sometimes receive MS doc files and am unable to open them at
this time so need something that will convert doc to text files or
prefer doc to PDF files.

Appreciate any help concerning Free software that will convert MS doc

including the ability to work with .doc = openoffice .

Gert...,

Thanks for the tip! Did not know that MS even had these converters.
Checked the link you provided and read the system requirements. Forgot
to mention that this PC is using WindowsME so the latest MS conveerters
are not supported.

Did you scroll down to the bottom of the page and see Word 97-2000 Viewer.
System Requirements are 95, 98, NT or 2000. I'm pretty sure it'll run on
WinME.

Mike...,

Thanks for the Internet Conversion Tip! For the basic DOC file I had
it did the job!! Noticed that it mentions a Max File size of 2MB which
would probably cover most of the DOCs I get.

Do you use the EasyPDF Printer Driver?
