Best book on developing server controls?

Hello,
I'm looking for a book with in-depth coverage of developing server
controls, particularly custom controls. Ideally, the book would have a
good amount of how-to's and best practices, but also serve as a fairly
complete reference. It doesn't need a whole lot in the way of
introductory material as I already have most of the basics down. So
I've narrowed my search down to 2 books: "Developing Microsoft ASP.NET
Server Controls and Components" from Microsoft and "Building ASP.NET
Server Controls" from Apress. My questions are:

1. Is anyone familiar with BOTH of these books and can
compare/contrast them and/or recommend one over the other for my
purposes?

2. Is anyone familiar with what's coming down the pike in ASP.NET 2.0
who would recommend I hold off purchasing a book like this because of
all the changes? (I don't plan on reading this cover to cover over a
weekend - I'd like it to be a reference that's relevant for a while to
come.)

Thanks for any suggestions,

Todd

I own The first book(Developing Microsoft ASP.NET Server Control And
Components )
This is the book to have , but it is not for beginners plus it requires very
good skills in C#.

I second this opinion. Absolutely a must to have this book if you want to
know about server controls.
