bending words

hi, i am using word 2003. i want to bend some words. is this possibile. not
using word art.

You can get an effect that might suite your needs by raising some of the
characters within a word. Try this:

Type a word eg BANANA

Highlight the second character: Format > Font > Character Spacing tab; on
the Position drop down list select Raised and change By: to 6 pt > OK.
Highlight the 5th character (N) and press the F4 key (to repeat your last
action; this should raise the N by 6 pt). Highlight the middle two
characters (NA) and raise them to 10 or 12 pt. This, of course, doesn't
'bend' the word ... but it does give it a bit of a curve.
