Beetween the dots

Well today I have finally installed service pack 2.
I have found change I dont like
What I usually do to open a site not in my favorites yet is ..open a browser
(imagine that). Then I double click beetween the dots in the adress bar of the
existing adress ie. http://www.google.com/ where google would then be
highlighted allowing me to go directly to the server I wish. I am now unable
to do this what happens now is the whole adress is highlighted forceing me to
do all that extra typing.

There are lots of ways to select a bit of a URL in the Address bar:

Singleclick on the first letter of the word you want to select.
Then press Ctrl-Shift-> (and Shift-CursorLeft if necessary.)
or press Shift and click where you would like the selection to end.

Alternatively drag your mouse over the word you want to select.

If you would like to just delete a portion of a URL instead
click where you want the deletion to *end* then press Ctrl-Backspace.

Either way the only thing you should need to type are the same
characters that you previously were typing over your selected word.

John,
Alternatively, when you click on the Address Bar and the whole address
is highlighted, type only the name of the site (such as "yahoo") and hit
Ctrl+Enter and IE will automatically add the "http://www." before it and
".com" after it. This, of course, doesn't work with .org sites but most
sites you'll be visiting end in .com.

Hope that helps,
Roberto

Hello John,

To bypass this problem you can install my alternative address bar Quero
Toolbar which allows you to highlight individual segments of an URL.
