Be Gone Mini Toolbar!

In Word 2007, is the 'mini toolbar' that little toolbar that appears above the context menu when right clicking on selected text? If so, I can't seem to get rid of it.

In Word Options I removed the check mark from 'Show Mini Toolbar on selection'...but that little toolbar still shows up! How do I get rid of it?

Thanks for your help.

It certainly seems to work on my system. If you are on a network, the
default settings of the Word Options dialog box could be restored on each
login.

Hi Daddy,

The Office Button=>Word Options=>Popular
setting for 'Show mini toolbar on selection'
is for enabling/disabling the minibar 'fade in' appearance when mousing over selected text. The setting does not remove it from the
'right click' context menu.

There may be a way to affect that Office-common portion of Word's context/shortcut menu content progamatically, but I don't recall
that it's been covered (yet) in articles such as http://gregmaxey.mvps.org/Customize_Word2007_SC_Menu_Programatically.htm

Okay, I understand now what the setting in Word Options means, although it
seems a little sneaky to me that the caption would read /Show/ Mini
Toolbar... vs. /Fade/ Mini Toolbar...

Thanks for the link - I wouldn't trust myself to incorporate VBA code but
perhaps I'll be able to find a (trustworthy) third-party add-on to do the
work of removing this admittedly minor annoyance.

Thanks to you both.
