BCM useability

I've been reading various emails about not being able to
customize any forms in BCM and am worried that I've
chosen the wrong solution for my real estate business
contacts. I was hoping to bring everything under one
roof so to speak (calendar, email, personal/business
contacts). It looks like the functionality and
capability to modify the forms in the basic
Outlook 'contacts' is much greater than in BCM right
now. Is this right or am I missing something? If I am
unable to change the business contact form (add pages,
new fields etcetera) it really takes away from the
useability of BCM.

Maybe the solution right now is to put everything in the
regular 'contacts' side and copy the basics over to BCM
in order to track opportunities/history and such. I
really didn't want duplicate records/processes though.

Any input w/b much appreciated.

Yes, that's correct. What BCM offers is much better email tracking history
than Outlook by itself, a sales opportunity funnel, and features like
reports on inactive contacts.

One possible workaround might be to use the BCM contact as the primary
history record but using a regular Outlook contact item with a custom form
for additional information and custom functionality (such as generating a
set series of tasks for each home sale). You can link the two together
through the Contacts box at the bottom of each default form.
