battery icon in system tray

Can someone please tell me how to get the battery icon in
my system tray? I have tried clicking on always show icon
in both the customize icons and the advanced power
options areas of the control panel. It never appears. I
would appreciate any info. Thanks.

right click anywhere on the taskbar and choose
properties. then click customize, and find your battery
icon and change it to always show this item.
