Batch Files, and reg tweaks

I was wondering if there where a way to send out a batch
file over my network to install some patches. I would
like to know if using one batch file could I run these
patches just once at startup, as the administrator, all
while the user is unaware of what is being done. (i.e.
no windows pop-up), and have a confirmation e-mail dent
to my work PC containing the PC name?

Also I was wondering if these tweaks, and such could work
with XP as well, thanks.
