basic question

I'm not sure if i'm in the correct area or not but i didnt see one for this.
I've been in the IT world now for 10 years and coding now for 7 of them.
I've done everything from helpdesk - network design and some small
application architecture work. I've been developing in .NET since the beta
version in C# and VB.NET, and done some architect work on some small
applications. How can I break out of the developer role and more on the
application architect side of things? I'm doing it a little at a time, but
i'm still about 97% hands on coding. any advice or suggestions?

thx

In some sense, every .Net developer is also an architect.

I would learn up and attend every seminar on SOA ( Service Oriented
Architecture ), then I would sell management on the concepts, and tell
them how I can implement it using an array of .Net programs, including
Smart Clients, Web Services, Windows Services, databases, XML and so on...

( PS - That's what I'm doing ;) )
