Basic Networking Question

Hi all...

I am setting up a small home wireless network that right now includes only
my desktop computer and a Dell Notebook computer. The desktop is connected
to a router and a dsl modem. So far, I can connect to the internet with
both machines, I have run the "networking wizard" on both machines, and have
"shared" some files on the desktop computer. I can now see the "shared"
drives from the desktop machine on the notebook, but when I try to access
them, I get the error msg:

"\\Samson\c is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this
network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if
you have access permissions.

The network path was not found."

I have made sure that the computer names and the workgroup names are the
same on both machines, and I am the designated administrator on both
machines. Any help would be welcome.

Make sure the shared folders have the proper rights for you to access them
from the other PC.
Also try typing in the IP address then the shared folder to see if you can
access it. (\\192.168.1.3\shared)

Might have a little issue with the DNS

You must create a login with *exactly* the same username & password on
both machines.

The computer names must be unique and the workgroup should be the same. You
cannot have two computers with the same name.
