Hi,

One of my students created a banner on his website but it doesn't appear
when you load the page in the browser. Java Virtual Machine is installed on
the computers that are used to watch the page. I know you're going to tell
me not to use things that require JVM, but this student would really like to
know what's wrong.

Lenny,

Hard to guess without seeing the page. Can you share the URL?

A few things to check:
- Assuming you're using FrontPage's built-in banner creator, are you sure
it's configured correctly?
- Does it work on any other computers? Perhaps computers outside of the
school?
- Is your JVM client up to date? Is it Sun's or Microsoft's? You can
download the latest Sun JVM here:
http://www.java.com

Personally, I've never used it so I can't offer too much advice on the
matter other than don't "use things that require JVM" :).

Hi,

Your message never showed up in Outlook Express and it was only after
someone in another group pointed out that there was a reply, that I
started searching for it through Google ...

Anyway ...

The banner was configured correctly (and yes, it was made using the
built-in banner creator). JVM latest version was installed on the
computers we tried out.

I can't provide a URL anymore, since the student already decided to
remove the banner anyway and replace it by still pictures.

Thanks for the ideas anyway,

Lenny
