Windows XP SP2 installation stops with a blue screen and say there is
a BAD_POOL_CALLER.

support.microsoft gets zero hits, anyone got a hint? How does the
machine know what the error is and Microsoft Support has no idea about
it? Did I find a new way for XP to be broken? If so, so I get an
award?

I hope top posting is acceptable in here, if it isn't, sorry.

Thanks for the hint.

Nope. Your problem is known, just not that common.

If the web paget that Will Denny referred you to does not provide the
solution then please post a reply back here and this time include the
complete text of the blue screen error message, including the STOP
code, all 4 parameters associated with it, and any file or module
names mentioned.

Good luck
