I ran a program downloaded off of the internet today - it
caused my cmputer to lock up. I restarted, and found that
everythng had been messed up. I could open programs, etc.

If I restart XP, is there something I can do to restore my
computer to yesterday, because I get in error if i select
Restore after windows boots.

Thanks, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. In XP, go to Programs, Accessories, System Tools,
System Restore. In Win98, start into command prompt,
type cd:\windows , then type "scanreg /restore" without
the quotes.

You mistunderstood - I CANT SELECT RESTORE AFTER WINDOWS
BOOTS - i get an error. I need to do this when retarting
before boot.

Please help

Press F8 at startup and select "Last known good configuration"..if
that doesn't work, press F8 and select "Safe Mode" and try to run
System Restore from safe mode.

Good Luck...
