Bad Connection

I've got 4 xp boxes running off a router that is plugged into a dsl gateway, all working great. I run 2 print servers and both work fine. however, i installed a new dell box and it worked good at first, then the connection went sour. now, most websites time out, pings to the gateway timeout 50-75%. I've run Adaware, SpyBot, AVG, and Tried the winsock fix and still its not working. If anyone could help I would be extremely happy.
