Can a worksheet with simple mathematical formulas that
has been saved with Microsoft Excel 2000 in the Excel
2000 workbook format be opened by edit by earlier
versions of Excel? We realize that we can "Save As" to
the earlier versions but it significantly increases the
size of the worksheet. Can most older versions of Excel
read the newest version if it doesn't contain any
advanced functions?

Thank you.

WinXL 97/00/02/03 and MacXL 98/01/v.X/04 all share the same file format,
and so can open each others files.

It sounds like your workbook could be opened by any of the above.
