Thanks Milly, I'll try to wade through it in the morning. I trust that this
works with Outlook 98 as well as Outlook 2000?

Milly,

I had about 746mb of *.pst files and I wanted to copy them onto a CD (700mb)
so I went through and deleted a substantial number of messages that were
old. Windows Explorer still shows 746mb. Any idea why this didn't change
and how I can get it below 700mb?
TIA

Did you compact them after deleting the messages? Right-click on the folder
in Folder View, click Properties, then Advanced. There should be a Compact
Now button.
