I have recently upgraded to Win XP from WinMe and as a result can no longer
use the version of Easy CD Creator (4) and Direct CD that was included with
my machine. In addition I have had a few problems in the past backing up
onto CDRW with data becoming inaccessible, and problems with reading UDF
format on other CD drives.
I have decided that the best (and cheapest) option would be for me to
perform regular backups of essential data (My documents, PST files, photos
etc.) on CDR using the resident copy routine in Windows XP.
The freeware backup programs I have seen seem to need 'packet-writing'
software (e.g. My Own Backup)
Is there a freeware backup utility that uses the CDR writing utility in
Windows XP, rather than UDF format? This would be for regular backup of
folders and sub-folders, but also for individual files (e.g. .pst files).
Advice on backup programs would be appreciated, as well as any general
advice on routine data backup to CD.
TIA
