A macro project called Project1 currently set up by default in Outlook 2002.
How do I back it up before deleting it and then create a new one from scratch
so I can restore it after finishing the test?

You can simply copy the *.rtm file from
C:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

Additionally I'd recommend to export all of the project files. Should the
rtm file be damaged then you can restore the project by importing the files.

VBAProject1.otm is the name of the file that holds all the VBA code.
