From the Microsoft Web Site I downloaded pfbackup.exe
onto my harddrive and proceeded to install it and
received a message that the installation was successful;
however, when I open Outlook 2002 there is no backup
option listed on the file menu.

Would anyone be able to help me?

In advance many thanks.

Is there an entry under Tools->Options->Other->Advanced->Add-in Manager?

My MSOL 2k2 doens't have anything in add-in manager for PFbackup, and works
fine. Is there any chance that the menu on File isn't expanded? So that
it's listed, but hidden from view by the MRU list? There's a chance the
bottom of the File menu has that odd double-hash mark, and once clicked
"Backup" will show up in the middle of the menu.
Per
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;810932&Product=ol2002
you should be able to reinstall it as well on step 16.
I'd also suggest the backup location be on a second drive so if one drive
fails the other has recent data.
