I am currently running Windows XP Professional. I am trying to create a
backup I have a Samsung CDRW/DVD Sm-308m t106 and a Lite on DVDRW Sohw812s
usoj and system does not allow me to create a disk using any of my cd rom.
Why? I am new at this and any help in how to create a backup disk not using
a floppy disk but in a CD-R, CDRW, DVD-CR. Please help. When I try using
the DVDRW drive I get an error msg that the past cannot be read

The backup program in Windows XP cannot backup files
directly to a CD or DVD drive. You need to create a new
folder on your desktop, name it "backup", then browse to
that folder and perform a backup to that folder. Then record
the backup file to your DVD drive using your DVD recording
software.
