Backup and Bootable CD

I would like to use the backup utility that comes
standard with windows xp prof. However, my laptop does
not have a floppy drive, only a cd reader/burner.
How can I make a bootable CD instead of the starup
floppy that the backup utility creates.

thanks

Thank you. These instructions are for creating
a windows XP bootable disk in general. Is there any
difference between this and the startup disk created
by 'Backup' ?

It is curious that microsoft claims they wont provide
bootable floppys for windows anymore, yet there backup
software ONLY makes floppys!

You might want to read the articles, parts 1 and 2 ("How to make a perfect
rescue tool"). In part 1, it'll show you what files are essential. In part
2, it will teach you how to burn those files onto the CD and teach you how
to make it "bootable". Note, this is not a standard Windows boot Cd where
you can only boot up to reload your existing operating system, rather it is
actually a true "boot" Cd where you can boot up any PC operating system.

what i will suggest is to download "easy boot",this software you to burn cd
that is bootable ,u can use ghost2003 to have an image of your clean system
then record the image as well as ghost in one cd ,afterward, if your system
goes wrong ,you can get a clean one back
