What is the best way to back up the Windows XP system and data?

You don't give much in the way of detail do you?

If you are a home user and you wish to make a backup copy of your hard disk,
the Acronis Trueimage is entirely adequate to the task. It provides an eay
method of restoring that backup to a brand new empty hard disk should the
worst ever happen. There are other products that perform a similar
function, but I have had to use Trueimage to restore backups in anger on
several machines and have never had any problem.

If you are in a corporate environment, then Trueimage *may* be good for you
but without any further details, I would reserve judgement. Truimage, for
example, would not be suitable for a large corporate system running on
several servers.
