Backing Up the Calendar, Contacts, and Tasks Folders Automatically

Outlook 2000

I have several questions regarding the Calendar, Contacts, and Tasks folders
in Outlook 2000. First, what file stores the data in those folders, and is
that file local or on the server (I'm connected to an Exchange server)?

Second, is there a way to automatically back these folders to my personal
folders? For example, could I create a My Calendar folder in my personal
folders, and have that folder synchronize with the standard Calendar folder?

The ultimate goal here is to make sure that data is backed up to a network
drive in case of a hard drive failure. Obviously, if the data in the
Calendar, Contacts, and Tasks folders is stored on the Exchange server, then
making them synchronize with corresponding personal folders is a moot issue.
On the other hand, if that data is stored locally, and there's no way to
achieve the goal using folder synchronization from within Outlook, I could
create a batch file to backup the necessary files.

Depends. If you delivery location is the Exchange server, then all your
items are stored on the Exchange server and not in any file. If your
delivery location is a Personal Folders file (PST), then they're all store
in the PST.

No.

Download PFBACKUP from Microsoft's Office downloads.

Thanks for the information. My delivery location is the Exchange server, so
I guess that I'm covered.
