I have a Dell Inspiron 5000 laptop, use Windows XP, and
have about 10GB on C.

I want to back up my files to an external hard drive, but
the software, BackupMyPC by Stomp Inc.says Windows imposes
a 4GB limitation. This does not seem like a reasonable
situation.

Any suggestions?

Hello

Find another program that will provide the support and
acces sthat you need.

Also, with an external harddrive, shouldn't you be able to just copy
your own data over? If you just want your programs/settings to be
preserved, you can use the File and Settings Transfer Utility on the
Windows XP CD. If it is just regular data, you can do it yourself, but
it may take a while :)
