I am a genuine neophyte. Could you explain this suggestion with a bit
more detail? Sorry. but I AMlearning
You just set your burning software to create a "DATA" CD. This will allow
it to burn a copy of all the files in question to a blank disc in their
original format, whether it be mp3 files, wma or what ever. I'd strongly
suggest that you have a look to see if some other burning software came
with your burner- like Nero or Easy CD Creator. If not, here's a quick
overview of using Windows Media Player to create a data CD:

When I use my burning software to make backup copies of my music files (I
use Nero) I have it burn copies of entire folders, rather than of
individual music files. In this way, the contents of each folder (which
represents a full CD the way I organize things) remains intact. If you
choose to instead burn all of your individual music files to CD en masse,
you will find that the data disc you get will have arranged all of those
files numerically/alphabetically, meaning that all of the files starting
off with 01 in their title will be grouped together, followed by all the
02 files, etc.
Hope that helps,
Ian.
