Is it possible to backup a custom made Macro in Word 97?

We want to export the backed-up copy of the macro over to
a server which has a tape backup system to ensure against
loss of these custom files. Currently Word is run from
the Office 97 Standard edition on a workstation, which is
not seen by the tape backup program located on the
server. Thus the need to batch xfer them to a directory
on the server so as to be included in the daily backup.

What is the file extension for a custom created macro,
and or the file name which contains the macro(s)?

Any assistance would be welcomed.

Thank you

Macros can be saved in documents or templates. If you have not specified a
different location, they are all in the New Macros module in Normal.dot.
