background picture in a table cell

I'm having trouble with a background picture I'm trying
to put into a table cell. The picture seems to split in
two and I can't figure out how to stretch out the picture
to cover the entire cell.

Just make the picture in a size that fits into the tablecell. Either you
can resize the picture or resize the imagebackground if you want the
picture to keep the same size as now. Ex picture 150x150 pix and
picturebackgound 150x300 pix with the picture placed where you want to
have it. You can do this in Photoshop or MS Photodraw or something like
that.

Load the picture again under the table it's in and resize or set size properties it till it fills the table, then resample to fix the size.

You may loose too much resolution and this will tell you before you commit.
