Background image loading after text?

I have a large presentation that I used photoshop images as the
background changing them at each slide. The accompanying text is in
PowerPoint on top of the background image, but when I look at the
slide show, the image loads after the text does. Is there any way to
change this so that they either load together with one click or to
make the text slide in right after the image?
It seems a bit ackward now.

Also some of the text does not load as it appears in the document. I
comes in and leaves again in the next click and then back to a
previous slide's text. (This only happens on a series of 4 of the 97
slides) Is there possibly a setting that I am overlooking?

What version of PPT? It makes a difference, especially when it comes to
animation such as this.

Task pane? sorry but I don't know which pane that is. when I go to
View>Task Pane it brings up a column of presentations that I could
open, This does not seem right. I could go to the slide transitions
pane but that does not give me the options that you are talking about.

Ok, then check on the custom animation task pane.

If your image is truly a background image and you don't want it to
animate, select the image *in the taskpane*, right-click and choose
remove to remove the animation. Otherwise, just select the image *in the
task pane* and use the reorder buttons at the bottom to move it higher
in the list. That will cause it to come in before the text.

You can then set the text to animate "with previous" or "after
previous," depending on what you want to do.

On the 4 slides that go back to another slide's text, that could be a
couple of different things. It may have an exit animation on the text to
cause it to leave on the 2nd mouseclick. Or the slide may be set up to
move to a previous slide. That would have been done via an action
setting.

Let's first get the other slides fixed, then we can worry about the 4
oddballs.
