Back end and front end

I splited the database with the access options. Now I have two access
databases, one with the data and other with linked tables, queries, forms,
reports and macros.

I put the back end part in a server and the front office is acceced in each
desktop. the front end has 1.7mb and the back end 700kb. In my opinion this
is too small, but it seems that the database it's very slower, what I mean is
that has a delay to access the data.

Any idea why?
