Back button functionality in IE7 now different

I am using version 7.0.5730.11.

I have a lot of URLs blocked in my HOSTS file (to avoid looking at ads).
This morning I noticed that the back button no longer functions the way it
used to. Now, all these URLs are listed in the back button's history, even
though I never actually selected them. This is definitely new, since now
either I can't use the back button (there might be too many of these URLs),
or the last page I actually selected is way down on the list. I found this is
how NYTimes and CNN work.

Like with CNN, the back button shows five
http://ads.cnn.com/html.ng/site=cnn&cnn urls listed. This is new, but I'm not
sure how new, since I would have noticed the back butto doesn't work properly.

Any suggestions?

Please try the IE7 group.
I see in http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ie7/default.mspx that
the recommended newsgroup is microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general

In a proper newsreader:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general

If you must use a web interface:
