Baattlefield 2142 Sound Issue

Quick synopsis:

Sound Issue in Battlefield 2142 with both 1.06 & 1.10 patches.
Using RC1 on a separate hard drive (dual boot to XP or Vista.) Displays fine
and worked great for a while with USB (Plantronics Gamecom Pro 1) headset
with or without Ventrilo running but at some point (not sure exactly when,
had an attitude and went back to XP so I could play) sound stopped working in
game only.
Ventrilo still works great but in 2142, no music, no nothing..
So tried without Vent running after a hard boot and nothing. I've changed
and put back quite a few settings but nothing has helped.
I'm running in Full Administrator mode, I turned UAC off since I'm the only
user.

Am I going to have to go the uninstall/reinstall route? Should I kill RC1
and start fresh? Any ideas are appreciated!

(Oh compatibility mode crashes, says I need to install the disk I just
launched the program from!)

go to the options section and then audio. when it comes up there will prob
be some gobbledygook - ignore that and look for the default button. click
that and it "should" sort it. If not you may have to do what i did last time
and exit the game goto device manager and remove the sound card and its
software, then reinstall it and that in theory should sort it. I have had to
both in the past - but only with XP not vista.

btw you may be best off restarting windows after removing the sound card
from device manager so it wipes everythng from active memory

Thanks - Solved by Deleting Plantronics Headset then refreshing. After it
reloaded the drivers - All is Good!
