Award post code 6C - "Display shadow area message"?

I

Ian Miell

I've just tried to build my first PC. On hitting power up, I get no
beeps, just a 6C award code on the two-digit display on the
motherboard. It's an AMD KV8 PRO motherboard with a Sempron 2800
processor.

The docs don't document 6C, but I've looked it up on the web, and it's
"Display shadow area message", apparently. What dose this mean, and
what am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance,

Ian

ensure that the motherboard is not touching down to the case, Under the
board obviously. Then with just the video card in, plus mouse and keyboard
and monitor connected. As the machine starts up keep pressing Delete to get
into the bios, where you can do some setting up.
You only said you`ve got a KV8 + Semperon, more info would help anyone, to
help you. best wishes..J

Sincere thanks old jon for your help.

I tried what you suggested, but that brought no joy, and I took
motherboard and processor down to some friendly hardware hackers up the
road. They couldn't figure out what was wrong either, so I took it back
to the shop and they gave me a refund, nqa. So I exchanged for an
ex-display PC which I'm writing on now...

Still planning to build my own PC, dammit!

Thanks again,

Ian
