avi file no sound

I inserted avi file into a ppt file and made it auto start.

Once it reaches to the page where avi file is linked, it plays the movie but
I can't hear any sound.

If I play it in windows media player in the same computer, I can here the
sound. So the file and computer speaker have no issue.

How can I fix this trouble?
