AVI dissappears when it starts to play

I am having trouble with several different movie clips with a .avi extension.
These clips play fine in Windows Media Player 10, but when inserted as a
movie file into Powerpoint 2002 and started, the screen goes blank when the
animation begins.

The clips are in the same folder as the PowerPoint file, so path length is
not the problem.

Also PowerPoint 2002 with SP3 does not list "Media Clip" as an importable
object, while PowerPoint 2002 without SP3 does. Any idea what is going on
here?

What's the full path to the PPT file? If that's long, so's the path to the AVI,
regardless of whether they're in the same folder or not.

Try moving both to C:\TEST and give it a shot.
