Hello,

how can ik make from a AVI file with freeware to an MPG file, without los of
quality?

TMPGEnc is a freeware tool which makes MPEG1 files, and MPEG2 for a 30 day
trial period. The MPEG2 codec is licensed and will cost you, but you can use
the MPEG1 option.

There will always be loss of quality when encoding from AVI to MPEG, as it's
being re-rendered using a compressed format.... it'll be a matter of
determining how much quality you are willing to lose and what settings to
use to achieve it.
