AVG/Zone Alarm vs Norton

New Dell computer came preloaded with Norton Internet Security. Is it worth
the price of a continuing subscription over the AVG antivirus and Zone Alarm
firewall that I was using on my old WIN95 machine? Seems I'm seeing a lot
more activity by Norton but not sure if that's because Norton's a better
program or my old Win95 machine just wasn't as good of a target.

There is nothing on the Win 9'x O/S worth coming after. <g>

I've been using Win95 since its inception without a firewall and never had
any problems. Like Duane says, it's not a target. Just got a new PC and
installed Win2K Pro and ran into all kinds of problems/instrusions. Tried
AVG, liked it, bought it ($33 US for 2 years) and tried Kerio 'Personal
Firewall' and bought that too ($55 US for licence, for life, includes free
updates subscription for 1 year). Beware though Kerio is much more
complex to use - but very effective.

I use AVG7 Pro and ZoneAlarm Pro on my Windows XP Pro SP1 system and
it is great. Norton tends to show you EVERYTHING which you don't
really want to see as about 99% of stuff is normal. If you want to see
EVERYTHING with ZAP you can but it makes using a computer almost
impossible as you are having to check alerts every minute or so.
