AVG Update

Robbie

I have installed AVG on a number of PC's. Every now and again on a given PC
the program will permanently not update to even with a connection running
and Internet Explorer open as Grisoft advise.

This can be Dial up or Broadband. Has anybody diagnosed this.

Thanks in advance

Hi Robbie
The default AVG6 update site (free.grisoft.cz) seems to be overloaded
quite often lately. I had trouble getting the updates.
Take a look at my post here yesterday "Multiple AVG6 Update Sites"
The detailed change to the AVG6 url.ini file will give you an
option of three download sites to choose from.

I heard AVG7 'payware' has been fixed. They'll get around to
AVG6 freeware when they get a minute free. They are fighting
to keep up with many 'new' virus and variants. Surely you
have more than one AV for occasions like this. Avast also
has a free version and there is also F-Prot for DOS with an
auto updater available for it.

It doesn't. (There is not auto update.)

Get f-update from Art's page, http://home.epix.net/~artnpeg/

If you like, you can then add it as a scheduled item with
the mstask scheduler.
