AVG or Norton 2003 Pro

I am presently using Norton 2003 Pro Virus Killer, so far (that I know
of) I dont have any virus or trojan, but however is the AVG free version
any better at doing a good job in comparison to Norton 2003 Pro?

Norton has a better detection rate.
