availability of Nikon 5000 ED

I use both VuScan and KikonScan4.X on my 5000 and like them both. Each
tends to cover the others weaknesses at least for me.

Tried both last night on the 5000 ED...and have to agree with this.

From the few I looked at, the 8000 (blown highlights notwithstanding)
more than holds its own against the older drum scanners. That Tango
scan looks terrible! The Imacon probably looks best for sharpness and
color rendition, but the 8000 is quite nice.
The 5000 should be as good, albeit for 35mm negatives.
