Hi. Does anyone know if I can use 'Autostreamer' with an OEM restore
disk of WIN-XP-Home that came with my computer ?
I want to do this but their website just mentions an 'original WinXP'
disk. Thanks. Dingo

Original does NOT mean OEM.

No, it has nothing to with whether it's OEM or not.The issue is
that it's a restore CD, not an installation CD. Autostreamer
won't work with it.

Hi Dingo - I suspect that's right - I also suspect that a Recovery Cd just
might work if it has a separate, directly accessible i386 folder, since
this is what is needed on a normal install CD to slipstream. I would think
it might be worth a try with Autostreamer anyway in that case.

I used Autostreamer with the XP SP1 OEM CD that came with my PC and the SP2
full download. I used Nero to burn the resulting CD which I've already used
succesfully to reinstall Windows.

It depends on just how the maker has set up that disk, but probably not.
Check if it has a folder called i386 containing files with extensions
ending in _ - like kernel32.dl_

If it does it is a normal style installation CD and it should work; if
that is no such folder, it is one of those that has a complete system
image that is put back; you can't slipstream those
