I have noted that the AutoSave on Word runs nearly continually. Any solution
for this?
 
It would be best to ask this question in a Word newsgroup. This one is for
Access, a relational database program. The web interface is not always
clear.
However, if I understand your problem correctly you can to to Tools >
Options; click the Save tab, and change the AutoRecover interval. While
you're there you should probably disallow Fast Saves.
 
Sorry, I have so often asked questions related to Access, I neglected to
choose the Word discussion group. Thanks for the response.
