Autoresolve Question

The autoresolve feature in my Outlook 2000 seems content to enter a name that
has no email address associated with it. Why is this? Unless I check
"properties" of each email address entered into the address bar, I can't be
sure I've entered a legitimate address.

What you claim is implausible and completely inconsistent with how
autoresolution works. Provide an accurate and complete description of what
you see. You've provided no real information here.

do they have fax numbers assoicated with them? a fax number is a legit
electronic address...

Example:

In my outlook contacts is a restaurant called "Alex's". This entry has no
phone number, fax number, or email address. The only things this entry
contains is the name of the restaurant and the city it's in.

If I start a new email and type "alex" into the address bar, then tab off of
it, "Alex's Restaurant" shows up on the address bar with a black underline.
Obviously this email cannot go anywhere with only the information provided,
yet Outlook treats it the same as a contact with a legitimate email address.

If so, then your AutoNameCompletion File has an entry for this Contact. It
had an electronic address associated with it at one time. Rename your NICK
file to reset it.

No fax number and never had an email address. I just tried another address
and it did the same thing. I think outlook has it out for me!
