AutoPreview doesn't show first 3 lines for some messages

I have autopreview turned on, but it doesn't seem to be showing for all
of my messages. Most of my messages show the first three lines, but
others do not. Does autopreview only work for certain formats of
messages (Plain text, Rich text, or HTML)? Please help! Thanks in
advance.
 
It works only when there is a plain text part of the message to display in the preview. Some HTML mailers may include only an HTML part.
