I run into a situation where the autonumbers reset
themselves to (1). It doesn't happen all the time and
seems random as to table and timing.

Is there something I should be aware of when using some
functionality in Access that would affect this behavior?

What version of Access, and more importantly, what Service Packs do
you have installed? This has been an occasional problem with some
versions of Access, especially 2000. It's SUPPOSEDLY fixed by getting
the latest service release installed. If you have multiple machines
running Access, be sure they're all at the same service release.
 
Is there a location where I can download the SP3 of Office 2K so I can
install from a directory instead of letting MS dump all on my PC?
